Wild Skies Art Gallery is looking for all types of artwork including, but not limited to: painting, photography, sculpture, design, illustration, collage, instillation, printmaking, word-and-image and other literary arts, and beyond. There is the potential for video, music, and dance performance. If you have a strong, cohesive body of work that has something to say, please submit.

NOTE: We recommend that you use either Firefox or Chrome browsers when submitting.

All images submitted MUST meet the following criteria:

  • File size: all submitted images should be no more than 2 MB each
  • Images must be in JPG format.
  • File name: Your file names must adhere to the following requirement: photographer’s last name followed by an underscore and then the image title.
    For example, Jane Smith’s photograph called “Sunset Days” should be named: smith_sunsetdays

Fees:

There is a fee to submit up to three (3) images. An artist may submit as many times as they wish. The fee goes directly to promotion, marketing, and making exhibitions a success. Payment will be accepted by PayPal (You do not require a PayPal account to pay by credit card).

No artist fees will be paid but all artists may price their work for sale during an exhibition. All sales will be completed through Alexis Marie Productions Inc. The artist will retain 50% of all sales made during the exhibition and a commission of 50% will be earned by Alexis Marie Productions Inc., who will promote the artwork for sale.

There is no maximum number of images that any artist can submit.

All successful art must be framed – or professionally finished in an appropriate manner for the medium – for an exhibition.

Selected artists must deliver their artwork, ready to hang/display/install, to Alexis Marie Productions Inc. by no later than one week pre-show instillation. The acceptance email, sent approximately 2-3 weeks after the extended deadline, will include detailed instructions for display, delivery and collection of the artwork(s) at the conclusion of the exhibition.

Artists that do not reside in Edmonton, Alberta may ship their work to/from Alexis Marie Productions Inc. at their own expense. In the case of photographs, the artist may have the photograph(s) printed and framed in Edmonton. Our exhibition printing partner is Technicare Imaging. The skilled and experienced printers at Technicare produce excellent printed images, as well as offering a selection of mating and framing options. Please contact Technicare directly (https://www.technicare.com, 1-800-897-1844). Technicare can also deliver framed photographs to the exhibition.

The digital image files of the selected artwork will be used for press, publicity and marketing purposes, as with our mission of providing exposure for our artists. Some of the selected images will be displayed and promoted on AlexisMarieChute.com/curation-call-for-submissions and across many social media platforms, reaching viewers worldwide.

Alexis Marie Productions Inc. reserves the right to decline work that, in the curator’s judgement, does not fulfill the online image submission requirements, fit the theme of the show, or for any other reason.

Standard release:

Artists maintain the copyright and ownership of their artwork. No copyright is transferred to Alexis Marie Productions Inc. in respect of any artwork submitted or accepted. Alexis Marie Productions Inc. reserves the right to use submitted images for promotion, publicity and marketing in any media, any entry, without payment beyond the 70% earned on the sale of the work from the gallery space, for the sole purpose of the exhibition – this year and in future. Each artist that submits will be deemed to warrant that they own the entire copyright for the work or that they have permission from the licensee and/or copyright owner(s) for the uses. All relevant clearances and/or model releases must have been obtained for the use of the artwork for publication and exhibition. All artists are responsible for insurance of their artwork.
